About Jim Claxton

Jim comes to American Mortgage with over twenty years’ experience in the mortgage industry. Jim started his career in 1991 as a loan officer at Fifth Third Bank and ultimately became a sales manager where he oversaw the sales and servicing of all loan types.

In 1997, Jim decided to go out on his own and started a company called Interactive Mortgage which offered services for all loan types in four different states. Under his guidance, the company grew to include approximately twenty loan officers at its peak. In this capacity he gained invaluable experience in dealing with a wide variety of loan programs, state and government agencies, realtors and real estate brokers, and customer relations.

Jim is happy to be with the American Mortgage family now and specializes in conventional loans, FHA, VA, KHC, USDA/Rural Housing and reverse mortgages. His years of experience help ensure that his customers are fitted with the best possible loan program and rate for their unique situation.
